A very close fight for the line in the finishing sprint between Rory Havis, Jacob Hennessey and James Garratt saw the three riders finishing in that order after the scratch group caught early on in the race.
Some excellent handicapping tonight saw a group of 4 riders catch the main bunch with 3 laps to go, and the rest of scratch catching just after hearing the bell. 3 Rhino Racing riders lead out the final lap but could only hold on for 3rd place with Michael Cowland being beaten on the line by Jason Burrill for the win and Tom Stokes in 2nd. One of the closest sprint finishes we have seen from the year so far, proving that the rarely used backwards circuit is a faster option!
Rain didn't stop play tonight although we were considering using the outer circuit to ensure rider safety wasn't comprimised. The wet did eventually back off and the handicap did go ahead as planned. Jordan Peacock attacking with 15 minutes to go, later joined by the winner on the night, Matthew Fostun finished marginally ahead of the chasing bunch. St Ives and Rhino Racing both placing 3 riders into the top 10.
Once again the scratch group failed to catch this week with the early riders proving strong enough to stay away. Ollie Taylor finishing fastest atop Southwick hill finsihing ahead of Graham Knight and Paul Southern.
Jacob Hennesy once again leading home the main group in the tailwind sprint to win his second race on the bounce. A strong scratch group with young riders in proved strong early on in the race and worked hard to make it to the very front of the race.
A very strong ride by the juniors today with 3 of the youngest riders in the race leading the way to the finish after breaking away from their group to secure the podium places. Sam Martin eventually getting the win.
George Fox managed to sneak away from the remainder of the race to finish fourth before Dave Palmer lead home the main bunch along with the scratch riders.
